xays pepeha
Pepeha - Task 2
When you think you can evidence your knowledge about what a pepeha is, why it is important, what ideas make up a Pepeha and what each part is about you can move on to the Task 2
Your task is to use a creative App that allows you to record a presentation for others to learn about Pepeha. It must be finished by the end of this week.
Your group must come up with a simple plan, present to a teacher and create a small presentation that teaches others about Pepeha.

It was important to have a Pepeha so that people knew where you were from. They might then know you were friendly /xay

In a Pepeha you might put your mountain, your sea, your name, your family, your pa or your Waka that your ancestors /ethan

We may have included what is in the Frankley Pepeha and explained each part.

The Frankley Pepeha goes like this
Pepeha (Frankley School)
Xay~ Ko Taranaki te maunga(This is our mountain) /xay
TimoKo Waimea te awa (This is our river)
Ethan~Ko Tokomaru te waka. Me on)(This is the waka that our ancestors came to NZ in)
Xay ~ Ko Te Atiawa te iwi ( This is the group of Maori people who lived here)
Timo~Ko Ngati Te Whiti te hapu (This is a smaller group)
Ethan~ Ko Okoare te pa tawhito (taw’ito) (This is where the maori people lived)
Xay~ Ko Frankley te kura (This is the school)
